Feeling Guilty?

3/30/2009

Guilt, what a lovely word.  The most amazing thing about guilt is that it is something we are taught to feel.  And something we continue to teach our children to feel.  Why do we feel the need for guilt?  It is a matter of control.  If I can make you feel guilty for doing something that I didn’t want you to do then I have the control.  Guilt will make you think twice before doing the action that I don’t want.  Now the thing to remember is that guilt does not stop people from doing those things that make them feel guilty.  If it did then there would be no crime, no war, no arguments, no disobedience of any kind.  We would all do exactly as we were told just because we didn’t want to feel guilt.

We have whole systems set up to create guilt and deal with the punishment of the guilty.  Our legal system is set up so that everyone is innocent until proven guilty.  Yeah, right!  We as a society have beliefs that only the guilty ones are ever arrested.  We as a society believe that police or authority figures are to be trusted and those accused of a crime are not to be trusted.  We set this up so that those in power always win, or at least most of the time.  That is why when a powerful person is arrested the picture on the news will usually show them doing some act of kindness while for a regular person the picture shown is usually a mug shot or video showing their guilt.  Our systems are not set up to be fair.  It’s like what they say about history, it is written by the ones who win.  Our systems are set up by the ones in power and designed so that they stay in power.

Guilt is a wasted emotion.  Feeling guilt does not undo what has been done.  It doesn’t change anything and yet we make a big deal out of it.  We go easier on the ones who say that they are sorry.  We teach our children to say they are sorry even when they don’t mean it.  We act like all you have to do is say you are sorry and then everything can be okay again.  We teach them to swallow their emotions so that we can feel better about the situation.  We short change them and ourselves.

We’ve all know people that take guilt to the extreme.  It could be the minister who always preaches about how full of sin you are and how you will never go to heaven unless you repent.  It could be the teacher who blames you every time something goes wrong in class whether you did it or not.  It could be the parent who believes that one of their children can do no wrong and the other can do no right.  It is all about guilt, punishment and control.  It is all designed to keep you in line.  It is all a matter of showing you that it is more important to be right than to be happy.

How do we get out of guilt?  By recognizing pure unconditional love.  With unconditional love you are always loved, no matter what.  There is nothing that you can ever do or say or be that would ever cause that love to be withheld.  In many religions the Creator is said to be unconditional love but then we are taught about sin.  How can there be sin if there are no conditions?  What is sin?  In biblical Hebrew, sin means to err, to miss the mark.  It does not mean to do evil.  That means that if you commit a sin all you have done is made a mistake.  It’s just a way for you to see what doesn’t work in your life. It is not something that you need to be punished for.

Many of us lug around a big bag of our past mistakes, our sins our unconscious guilt.  We still feel sorry or angry or justified because we haven’t let it go.  We haven’t forgiven ourselves and everyone else invloved.  Forgiveness is not just saying I’m sorry, true forgiveness means you don’t judge and condemn another or yourself.  It means accepting that everyone is innocent and allowing yourself to love them and yourself.  What do you get with true forgivenenss, inner peace and happiness.  You take back the power and control of your own life, your own happiness.  You get to dump that big bag and enjoy your existence.  Is it worth it?  That’s for you to decide.  To learn more about forgiveness go to: http://www.divinelyguidedhealing.com/forgiveness.html

Living In The Flow

3/24/2009

We often hear the term, being in the flow, but do you understand what it means?  Let me describe it with a situation that many of us have had.  You’ve met someone and started talking and the conversation just flowed.  You look at a clock and realize that you have been talking for hours but it seems like just moments because it was so natural and open.  You were in the flow.  You may have also had conversations that seemed to take forever, it was like you and the other person just were not connecting, not speaking the same language.  You were not in the flow.

The Universe or Life has a natural flow to it.  Just like a river.  Many of us have been taught to struggle against the flow.  Or that we have to fight for everything we have in life.  You hear things like, “you have to work hard to get ahead or the early bird catches the worm or money doesn’t grow on trees”.  We have adjusted to having to fight or struggle to get ahead in life.  But what would happen if we just flowed?

Going with the flow, it means stop fighting, stop struggling, stop expecting the worse.  It means connecting with your Divine guidance and following as you are lead.  It means giving up all your expectations and allowing love to guide your life.  It means living in peace, joy, abundance and love.  Does this mean we have been doing it all wrong all of our lives!?  Yes, it means we have been fighting a battle against who we really are and wondering why we keep losing.

Here is one of the secrets of life.  Everything starts with your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  What you think, feel and believe is what is created in your reality.  If things are not going as you desire then you need to change your thoughts, feelings and beliefs which will result in changes in your reality.  Accepting responsibility for your life is an important step.  It is taking back your power.  It allows change.  Your life is not dictated by your past but by your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  Releasing all negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs; and focusing on what is truly desired brings forth what is truly desired.  That is your power.

Now you may be thinking that sounds well and good but what does it have to do with my real life.  How do I change my thoughts, feelings and beliefs?  Is it really that easy?  The first thing you need to do is become aware of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  Experts say that we are not consciously aware of what we are thinking 95-98% of the time.  And to make matters even more interesting, most of the thoughts that you are not aware of are based on beliefs that you formed before you were 6 years old!  That tells you why your life isn’t going the way you think you are thinking, because you don’t even know what you are thinking!  This may be one of the reasons that the Law of Attraction doesn’t seem to work for you.  There are several different ways to clear out these thoughts that you aren’t aware of, some are quick and easy while others take more time.  Here are a few.

You can do the work yourself using an energy healing method like EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).  You can get free instructions at: http://www.emofree.com/downloadeftmanualv12.asp .  This is the website of Gary Craig, the founder of EFT.  Read the manual and get the newsletter.  Work on what ever issues are most pressing in your life.  You will over time be able to get all those old thoughts that are blocking your flow out of your life.

You can also go a more spiritual way by learning to channel or connect with your spiritual guidance and letting them tell what to release and how to do it.  You can get free instructions at: http://www.divinelyguidedhealing.com/channeling.html . Once you learn to listen to your guidance and follow their directions then you will begin to flow.  This is my website so I will be happy to answer any questions that you have while learning the process.

You can also hire a life coach.  This person should have the expertise and experience to assist you in recognizing and releasing your limiting thoughts quickly and easily.  This is a more expensive option but it is also a faster option.  The right coach will be able to choose releasing methods that will work with who you are and, they will be able to answer any questions that you have about releasing or understand why you have the issue to begin with.  You should begin seeing a difference in your thinking after just one session with the right coach.

You can also take teleclasses or workshops on releasing and clearing beliefs.  This is great during the classes but it requires that you have the dedication to hold yourself accountable for changing after the class is over.  It is also a good way of seeing how different coaches work so you can find one that fits with you.

Once you start to release those thoughts, feelings and beliefs that have been blocking your flow then you will spend more and more time focusing on what you desire.  Not just thinking about it but feeling what it is like to have it.  Becoming totally connected with your desires will attract them into your life.  If you are ready to flow or have any questions about flowing, feel free to contact me at dgh.info@sbcglobal.net.  I offer a free 15 minute strategy session where we can look at what you want to change in your life and come up with a workable plan for you to do so.

Are You Ready for Unconditional Love?

3/11/2009

I’d like to share how unconditional love has come into my reality.  I was married for almost 20 years and now I am single.  I was going along living my life, no major problems when my guidance told me to join these social groups for the purpose of meeting men.  I had no interest in meeting a man.  I’d just come to grips with being single and the thought of dating was not something I was looking forward to.  My guidance told me I would be doing it just for fun, nothing serious.  So I joined two social groups and met lots (over 50) of men in less then 4 weeks!

I was amazed.  I asked my single friends if they were getting this kind of response.  Their answers were all, “No, I’ve never gotten that much interest!”  I couldn’t figure out what I was doing to attract that many men!  I’m a 50-year-old black woman for heavens sake!  So I asked my guidance.  They told me that this was all just for fun and I should just see what the men had to offer.  Okay, so I started to look at what I was attracting.  It was amazing!  Men from all different countries, all different races, a wide variety of ages!  Then I began to notice something about most of these men, they had an energy of desperation.  I would respond to their email and in their next email to me they would be calling me darling or sweetheart and telling me how I was the one they had been looking for!  Okay, something is wrong here.  These men didn’t know me at all so how could I be their perfect match?  I found myself judging these men and avoiding their messages.  I was not having fun!  And my guidance was showing me how I was not coming from unconditional love.  When I started responding in the ways I was guided, I started to help some of these men to heal.  As they healed they moved on to other women.  Soon I was down to about 3 men.

To say that nothing has turned out like I expected is definitely an understatement.  I have found that the man I am most attracted to has been an incredible healing exercise for ME. (And I thought my life was just fine!)  His age reminded me of issues I needed to heal, his location was another reminder, his attraction to me was another reminder and there were lots more reminders.  I’m a life coach and healer, I thought that I had unconditional love for myself and for everyone else.  Boy was I wrong!!  It is truly amazing how much programming and conditioning we have to not love unconditionally.  Every time I thought that I had it down pat, something would happen to remind me of how much programming I still have.  We are so programmed that even the people that I know love me tell me I’m crazy because I am working on loving him and myself unconditionally.  Why invest so much time healing issues over a man I have never actually seen?  I do it because I had no idea how I let expectations and old beliefs rule my life.  I’m still learning to let go and live in the moment, even though I’ve been doing this for over 5 months!  I can see some improvement but when I least expect it an old belief will rear it’s ugly head and I have to do more healing work on myself and on him.

So my advice to others is to take a good look at your lives and your relationships.  You are a lot deeper then you realize and some of these beliefs go back many lifetimes.  I will say that clearing out the old and coming from unconditional love is very freeing.  I see my life and my relationships in a whole new way.  I have taken back my power and know that my happiness is my choice, not based on circumstances.  I have a higher appreciation for myself and for life.  I also trust my guidance more, they obviously see more than I can.  Getting out of the rut of your old thoughts and beliefs is so very worth it!  I’m even having fun!

Separattion or Unity: The Great Divide

3/2/2009

We have been taught for many, many eons that we are each completely separate from all else.  It’s funny when you think about it because we are also taught that there is a soul mate out there who will complete us.  If we are separate why are we not complete?  Who is making this stuff up?  What are we suppose to believe?

Here’s the real truth.  Ready?  You might want to sit down for this one. (smile)  Honestly, we are each and everyone of us separate and a part of the whole.  While this may sound like you do need to find that soul mate to complete you, actually nothing could be further from the truth.  You are complete and whole just as you are.  You always have been and you always will be.

You see the whole truth lies in whom you really are.  You are a spiritual being who has chosen to have a physical experience.  So you are not just this body walking around.  It’s like saying that all the air in a room is totally different than all the air in the next room.  First there is no easy way for you to keep the air separate.  It will commingle through the doorways and windows even through the walls, floors and ceilings.  It is all one air.  Now there are ways of separating the air and keeping it in just one room but you will find that unless you take steps to refresh it, it will break down.  Air is not meant to be separated and neither are you.  In fact, it is impossible for you to really be separated on all levels.

While your body has an exterior so that you can see where you end and the next person begins, you are more than that.  You have several layers that are invisible to most people.  That is why you get uncomfortable if someone invades your space.  There is a part of you in that space and you can feel their presence.  That is why you can feel that someone is up to no good even though you have never said a word to them.  We are all connected.  And when I say “we” I’m not just talking about humans.  We means everything and everyone in this world.  Even our furniture is connected to us.   So the saying, ‘no man is an island’ is true.  You are not just the island but also the ocean, all of the creatures on the land and sea, all of the rocks and soil and plants, all of the air, etc.  You are connected to it all.

Okay, so now you know that you are connected.  What does that have to do with your life?  When you see yourself as one with all it changes how view everything else in life.  It’s no longer me against the world.  How can you be against what is you?  How can you hate someone else and not be hating yourself?  How can you do harm to others and not do harm to yourself?  Knowing your connection changes your whole way of being and thinking.  Remember that what we think about is what we see in our lives.  So if you look at some people and think mean and nasty thoughts you are inviting that same kind of thinking back onto yourself.  Have you ever noticed those who feel that they are never lucky are never lucky?  It’s not some mean trick that God is playing; their thoughts are creating their lives.

For so long we have seen all this separation.  We even take things that were separated and separated them even more so that everyone and everything can be put into a neat category.  Why do we do this?  When you meet someone new do you go through a list before you can decide if you like him or her?  Do they have to be the right age, race, sex, income level, education level, religion, hair color, eye color, political group, and nationality?  Do they have to drive the right car, live in the right neighborhood, eat at the right restaurants, read the right newspaper, have the right job and shop at the right stores?   If you do put all the new people you meet to this test do you seriously wonder why you seem to spend so much time alone?  Would you want to be around someone who spent this much time judging you and everything about you?  Are you so afraid of being alive that you feel that all these categories (walls) are going to protect you?

What happens when we start to see the connection?  It opens up so much more in your lives.  It allows you to see others from love.  You no longer have to hate, fear or worry.  You can accept everyone just as they are.  You don’t have force them to be like you, you are already connected and you are not required to be identical.  Where would the fun be in that!  A world full of identical people would get real boring, real fast.  You no longer have to compete; you’ll only be competing against yourself.  You don’t need to be afraid of being yourself.  You’ll be accepted just as you are.

Of course, accepting that we are one and returning to the unity we were created from will have some repercussions.  Actually they are already happening.  All of the systems based on separation will have to end.  And they are.  People will need to open their hearts and release all the old fears, worries and beliefs.  And they are.  The world will change. And it is.  Unity is the wave of the future.  The only question is are you going to catch the wave or be washed away?
